Inclusive Education in Action: Celebrating Spread the Word: Inclusion Day at Morning Star

Students and staff from Morning Star Catholic School, Bishop Moore, and St. Charles came together last week to celebrate Spread the Word: Inclusion Day, a national initiative that encourages people to take a stand for kindness, acceptance, and equality for students with disabilities.

At Morning Star Catholic School, we believe every student deserves to learn, grow, and be included—because inclusive education matters. Programs like Best Buddies and Peers as Partners bring that belief to life, showing the value of friendship, teamwork, and acceptance every single day.

Wearing purple with pride, our students and their peers signed a special banner and pledged to make inclusion more than just a word but a daily choice, lived out and celebrated.

As a Catholic school for children with special needs, Morning Star takes this opportunity to show that inclusive education is a core part of how we educate, empower, and inspire our students. While our school operates in a specialized setting, every classroom and program is designed to foster connection, collaboration, and inclusivity, ensuring students build the skills, confidence, and friendships they need to thrive.

This approach reflects our Catholic values in a profound way. By embracing each child’s unique gifts and abilities, we honor the belief that every life is sacred and worthy of dignity. Through our partnerships with St. Charles and Bishop Moore, all three campuses learn compassion, respect, and empathy. Inclusion is more than a practice; it is an expression of our faith in action, shaping students to grow as caring, confident, and responsible members of their communities.

Join us in spreading the word and making inclusion a priority, not just for one day, but every day!
